I was inspired to become a Birth Doula through my experience as a Registered nurse and mother of 6, with 6 grandchildren, with nearly 30 years of experience in both nursing and parenting. As a nurse having experience in hospitals, homecare, and teaching; I recognizes importance of evidence based practices. As a yoga instructor and Ayurvedic Health counselor I recognize the importance of integrative wellness, encompassing the mind, body and spirit when navigating lifestyle choices toward personal wellness.

Attributing my love and passion in supporting families during this phase of life to my own personal birth experiences. All of her births were assisted with the Midwives of North Shore Birth Center in Beverly. There I was supported, loved, and taught by these professional angels starting in 1989 during my first pregnancy to 2005 with the last. Their passion and devotion to supporting and empowering women was imprinted onto me 3 fold.

MY attraction to holistic health led my to study Yoga and Ayurveda, an ancient wellness system from India that focuses on balance through aligning mind, body and spirit with the rhythms of nature. Using simple diet, movement and lifestyle choices that promote balance, that differs person to person, season to season and changes over time. Ayurveda and Yoga are closely related. Yoga being more of mind and Ayurveda more of body and both of spirit.

Now I in rural northern Massachusetts, where I spends a lot of time in my gardens and being with my granddaughters and picking up shifts at the hospital. Being with my children and grandchildren and Being outdoors (in good wether) lights me up. Paddle boarding, kayaking with friends, yoga, and coffee on my porch, or seeing those cute little faces can flip me into a great mood instantly. I’ve always been, almost allways: save for high school, interested in learning, especially learning new ways of thinking. Oh man, just reading or hearing about perspectives that are foreign or far from my comfort zone are intriguing and just breathe life into me. So much scares me, but I do it anyway, thanks to the little spirit in me that is forever believing that I can do anything, Thank you little Feebee.

My Mission is to be of service in meaningful ways to people. What feeds my soul is when I can channel wisdom and deliver it to another soul as nourishment. That’s it. That is a thousand word essay in one sentence. I have learned and am still learning so much, from my own life, from books, from mentors, from spirit, from my mistakes and successes. I have felt and still feel your pain little one and will hold space for you.
