Wholehearted homestead 2.0
This time of year is when I start getting super excited, its like my Christmas Eve. I stop being frustrated with snow because now I just consider any snow that falls to be garden hydration. Fully appreciated and with all respect, Nameste Mother Nature.
We have been working hard at planning this seasons crops. We have lessons from the past years experiences in growing to create a stronger more resilient varieties. We met with a CSA family in Florida who had some great advice we will put into use with this years CSA. We have read about new Heirloom vegetable varieties as we mingle with local growers. Wait til you see some of the new varieties we are trying out this year, super cool. We are still reeling a bit from the last couple years chaos but are now feeling very grounded and have decided to just do the next right thing… take one day at a time and push forward.
How do you eat an elephant?
One bite at a time.
So my first bite starts here in the Wholehearted Homestead late winter newsletter. The pictures above speaks volumes, and makes me nervously crack up laughing, (I hear Sponge Bobs laugh in my head). How can this hot mess clean up so nice and nourish this and our shareholders families. It hardly seems possible. But faithfully spring comes, then summer and efforts never fail to produce. It’s hard work and done with such infused love and passion how could it ever fail.
The plans have been drawn, look for extensions to garden beds in the upper lot and new potatoes patch in the clearing in the woods. We are planning to get a few baby chickens to add to our flock. We have seed packets from our favorite nurseries, Johnnies Select seeds, Annie Heirloom seeds, and new this year flower seeds from Floret.
Blessings from our family to yours.
